Hey friends—Dr. Tom here.
As many of you know, I’ve been working hard on my textbook Primary Care of Men Who Have Sex with Men: A Reference for Primary Care Providers. That book is aimed at clinicians and is packed with science, guidelines, and best practices to help providers deliver the culturally competent and comprehensive care our community deserves.
But here’s the exciting part: I’ve also written a patient companion version. This one is for you—for all gay men who want to feel empowered in their healthcare, especially if your provider isn’t experienced in MSM health. It’s written in plain language, with practical advice and real talk about the issues that matter most: from STIs and PrEP, to mental health, to body image, to relationships, to navigating the healthcare system itself.
Now here’s where I need your help: I don’t have a title yet.
I want something that feels accessible, affirming, and powerful—something you’d be proud to have on your shelf, recommend to a friend, or even hand to a doctor who might not “get it.” The right title should draw people in, let them know this book is for them, and carry the message that your health, your body, and your voice matter.
So… what do you think? What title would make you pick up this book? Please DM with suggestions or post.
Drop your ideas in the comments or DM me. I can’t wait to hear your suggestions and shape this project together. After all, this book isn’t just about medicine—it’s about community, empowerment, and owning our health.
